Mr. B.S. Prashanth is a well-known name in the service sector, especially in tourism and hospitality sector of Mysuru. He is an entrepreneur and is doing remarkable work in the tourism industry. Born on 19th August in Bettahalsoor, he is a proud son of Smt. Akkamahadevi and Late Sri Shivanand. He has completed his Masters in Journalism (M.A.) at the prestigious University of Mysore. He then followed his passion and is now doing a great job with respect to tourism through his companies.

Prashanth, being a travel enthusiast himself, saw the need to nurture the travel industry in the tourists’ favourite city, Mysuru and started his dream venture, Safe Wheels Tours and Travels in 1999. Since 27 years, Safe Wheels has been providing quality services and hassle free travel solutions to the people in and around Mysuru. Safe Wheels Tours & Travels was the first company to start a 24/7 cab service in the city. With consistency in service and improvisation, now it has thousands of satisfied customers across locations. Safe Wheels was started as a small setup which had only 2 staff. Today, it has nearly 9 Ventures and over 100+ eminent employees. If this is not a success story, which else is?

To work much more towards the travel industry, Prashanth started Spicetrip in 2009. It is a full-fledged travel agency offering independent, worldwide travel solutions including VISA and passport assistance, various holiday packages and more.

Prashanth had foreseen the potential growth of the real estate industry in Mysore and hence started Properties In Mysore in 2006 which was later renamed/rebranded as Alliance Square. This company has successfully completed 20 years with 4000+ satisfied customers and has so far marketed 45+ layout across the city. It markets residential plots in and around  Mysuru. All the properties are carefully listed, so that the buyers can make an informed & correct decision to invest in Mysore. He also started a luxury farmvilla, Kapila Riverfront in the outskirts of Mysuru. He has a venture called Mediatree which provides end-to-end PR solutions.

A societal person with social concerns

Apart from business, he is a man with plenty of social responsibility and keeps doing something for the society. He formed Mysore Travel Agents Association, now renamed as Mysuru Travels Association, which brings together the whole travel sector of the city under one roof. He has played a vital role in promoting Mysuru as a major tourist hub and has held various travel marts and also represented the travel sector in various Trade fairs abroad.

Prashanth is constantly working towards making Mysuru a major tourist hub. He headed the Mysore Travel Mart, in association with Mysuru Travels Association with an attempt to attract investors, tourists and media to Mysore. It’s 5th edition was recently held in 2026. He is the founder president of “Let’s Do It! Mysore”, a unique Social responsibility movement which was started to promote a clean and hygienic environment in Mysore city with many campaigns and events. The team has been involved in creating awareness among citizens regarding cleanliness and conservation of environment. The team often works with Mysore City Corporation during Swacch Sarvekshan, Dasara and other important events.

Through Mysuru Shopping Festival, Prashanth envisioned the grave need for a solution to cope the downtrend in the offline market and help the establishments in Mysuru to retrieve from the trending Online Shopping and made the masses to come down to the stores and experience the pleasure of shopping with attractive gifts and give-aways which led to gradual boost in Mysuru’s economy of retail trade. He had once ventured into the handicrafts industry with a noble vision to provide a global platform to the local art forms and artisans. He also had various other ventures like Safe Drops (for drinking water supply), Farmar (for organic vegetable supply), Safe Impex (Import & Export assistance), Viwah (Wedding Planners). 

He conceptualized and produced a tourism film called Visit Mysuru which won National Award in 2017. He continued this video series again in 2024 and produced videos that showcases Mysuru’s rich history, culture, heritage, traditions, celebrations, tourist places and more. Latest video of Visit Mysuru was ‘Spectacular Mysuru Dasara’ which was formally inaugurated by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekawat during Mysuru Travel Mart 2026. It showcases the granduer of Dasara festivities in Mysuru.

There is tremendous goodwill for all the ventures led by Mr. Prashanth. He has the ability to diversify and know the pulse of the new business he ventures in, to make it a successful one. His team has the knowledge and skills to manage the business and he leads his team with a clear purpose, determination and compassion.
